A letter to the Moroccan King, and all.
Declaration from the Rifians in Diaspora: A Call for Justice and Sovereignty 🔥
To:
His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco
The Moroccan Embassy in Brussels
Human Rights Institutions across Europe
Representatives of the European Union
After 25 years of peaceful protest, our voices remain unheard. The Rifians in diaspora have marched, petitioned, and pleaded for justice—yet the Moroccan regime responds only with silence and repression.
Today, our brothers and sisters of the Harak Rif movement endure hunger strikes and brutal mistreatment in Moroccan prisons. Political prisoners like Nacer Zefzafi suffer under unjust sentences, while the memory of martyrs—Mouhcine Fikri, the five burned in Bank Chaâbi—haunts our collective soul.
We declare:
The Moroccan administration’s justice is revolting.
The continued occupation and oppression of the Rif region is intolerable.
The time for escalation has come.
We hereby assert our legitimate right to independence for the Rif Republic. This is not a cry of vengeance—it is a demand for dignity, for the release of all innocent prisoners, and for the restoration of our people’s humanity.
We thank the European Union and the Belgian government for their support and understanding. But we ask for more than sympathy—we ask for action.
Signed, Richard BENAZZOUZ HAOUARI. &The Persecuted Victims of Injustice and Brutal Tyranny Rifian Diaspora, August 2025
