دراسة جينية صادمة حول الكنعانيين تم نشرها سنة 2020 في مشروع نتائج الحمض النووي لشمال أفريقيا على الرابط أسفله، نزلت كالصاعقة على المستعربين الذين لطالما صدعوا رؤوسنا بأن الكنعانيين عرب وأن أصول الامازيغ كنعانية .. لكن المساكين في حالة ذهول من شدة الصدمة، إليكم نتائج الدراسة التي تناولت الحمض النووي لرفات الكنعانيين. قام العلماء في دراسة (Agranat et al. 2020) بإستخراج الحمض النووي لـ 73 عينة قديمة من خمسة مواقع كنعانية في دولتين بالشام (إسرائيل والأردن)، وأظهرت نتائج المكونات الجينية (Autosomal DNA) أن الكنعانيين في العصر البرونزي والحديدي يحملون جينات من مصدرين، وهما: 1) جينات شُوام العصر الحجري الحديث. 2) جينات إيرانيو العصر الحجري الحديث الذين هاجروا إلى بلاد الشام في العصر البرونزي قبل 4200 سنة. بينما كشفت نتائج السلالة الأبوية (Y-DNA) أن أغلبية الذكور الكنعانيين ينحدرون من السلالة الإيرانية (J1a2b)، ولوحظ غياب تام للسلالة العربية-الايرانية (FGC11) والتي تشكل اقلية داخل الجزيرة العربية بسبب إنحذار العرب من اجناس واقوام مختلفة، ولوحظ ايضا غياب تام للسلالة الأمازيغية (EM35 EM81). أما نتائج السلالة الأمومية (mtDNA) فأظهرت أن أغلبية الكنعانيين ينحدرن من سلالات أمومية خاصة بشاميات العصر الحجري الحديث.
